Your Why? is your business goal. Here are some examples of a Why?:
Are you looking to reduce your costs per lead?
Are you trying to get better insights on your users, so you can be more competitive in the marketplace?
Do you need to be more responsive or agile, especially in volatile or busy times?
Do you need to speed up your turnaround times to keep your customers?
Once you have your Why?, you need to determine ways to keep tabs on your progress for meeting your goal and to determine if you're on you're way to getting there.
These ways of keeping tabs are called key performance indicators and they're vital in operations.
